Dearly Gathered
Dearly Gathered, a performance on the themes of longing, connection, and the power of a single extravagant purchase. The piece speaks to the dear price we pay for instant gratification, but also offers a surprise antidote to consumerism. Created over the course of a year and a half Dearly Gathered was initially inspired by a quote from Eve Ensler during an interview with Krista Tippett on the podcast On Being. Directed by Rowena Richie. Created and Performed by Brian Thorstenson, Christy Funsch, Rowena Richie and Chris Black. Live music composed by Kendra McKinley. Lighting design by Richard Board. Photo by Elisabeth Fall. This multi-disciplinary work was staged in the sanctuary of the beautiful and inclusive Old First Presbyterian Church January 27 & 28, 2017. |
