6NewPlaysIn the fall of 2013 my friend Eugenie called, "Hey, I'm part of this new group of playwrights. We're going to produce our own work. Wanna join us?" Eugenie's contagious enthusiasm, coupled with her artistry, made a 'yes' the answer. We've been meeting and talking and hatching plans.

Who We Are |
6NewPlays is a playwriting producing collective of six Bay Area playwrights – Erin Bregman, Eugenie Chan, Christopher Chen, Barry Eitel, Andrea L. Hart, and Brian Thorstenson. Over the next three years, we will produce six new plays. Inspired by the 13P model, we put the production process in the hands of the playwright-- each playwright will act as artistic director for her or his own production. Our plays will be formally inventive, small budget and San Francisco Bay Area themed, adding to the rich history of new theater in the Bay Area.
We are making theater, not running a theater for longevity. We believe in community -- if you help us, we'll buy you a beer. |
